Sir Kevin Tebbit appointed to Global Advisory Board

"Brooks International, a global executive services firm, is strengthening its International presence and as part of its long term strategy has appointed Sir Kevin Tebbit to its Global Advisory Board with immediate effect.”

The first stage of Sir Kevin Tebbit's career was with the UK Government, specialising in defence and security policy, diplomacy and intelligence. He became the Director of the Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) in 1998; and was then, for over seven years, Permanent Under Secretary of State at the Ministry of Defence.

Sir Kevin is now engaged in a variety of activities in the private and public sectors, spanning defence and security issues, advanced engineering, manufacturing and technology. He is a Non Executive Director of Smiths Group Plc; an Adviser to Finmeccanica group companies (previously as UK Chairman); is a Senior Adviser to other organisations, including URS Corporation and Hewlett Packard, and holds a number of appointments in academia. Sir Kevin also advises the UK Minister for Trade and Investment.

Sir Kevin's early career was in Government service, first in the UK Ministry of Defence, specialising from 1976 in nuclear strategy and programmes. Then he transferred to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, with diplomatic postings including First Secretary at the UK Delegation to NATO; NATO HQ; and Washington DC (where he was Counsellor for Politico-Military and European Affairs).
